My name is Nick Buitendijk. From a young age, I have been a huge animal lover. That’s not surprising when you grow up surrounded by dogs, cats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, cows, horses, and birds. My greatest passion has always been birds, and it still is. I am mainly talking about parrots; we now have quite a collection of them fluttering around the house (some species quite literally).
Parrots are struggling in their natural habitats due to habitat loss, climate change, and poaching. In aviculture, however, many species are actually thriving.
That’s why we support the work of Chris Biro and Bird Recovery International, who prepare young birds for a life back in their original environment.

Most young birds are raised naturally by their parents. As a result, they are often not hand-tame. The aim is for the birds to grow up as naturally as possible and, above all, to be able to be birds.
The birds offered come from tested stocks and have been screened for the known parrot diseases. The young birds are also sexed. Additional tests are possible upon consultation.
